From The Desk of brother Chris Muhammad & The Beoriginal Wear Team,
Words are inadequate to express the pain, the shock, and the turbulent thought processing that the passing of Brother Steve (Stezo) Williams has stirred in me, in my family, in his family and the members of The New Haven CT Hip hop Music Community in general.
I knew Steve as a brother and friend. Who would write to me while I was in prison. He shared his story with me in many letters. It was him that inspired me to take interest in music and fashion wear. As he was a brilliant man who learned how to stream income from various sources.
To me he will always be remembered as a light and good example of how to rise from a decadent lifestyle to a more prosperous life with style. I saw God in Stezo as many need to learn how to see God within Ourselves and each other. Many people may have mixed feelings about him for whatever reason.
But I want you to know that STEZO never stopped being who he was born to be. From his stages as a sperm, to being formed from the womb of his mother. He overcame all the obstacles that were before him. He was motivated to become great in spite of those who said nay.
In his own words, “Extra Extra read all about it, Its me STEZO the one who has been doubted”. Whenever a person doubts us, it means they feel uncertain. Uncertain means not able to be relied on; not known or definite. At the birth of Hip Hop Music Artist coming out of New Haven CT. many were uncertain about what hip hop music was and would become. Just like many of us still are uncertain about who we or our children will become.
Stezo in his own life found a way to remove all doubt about him in the work he put in to transform his own life and the lives of many who he touched. “It's’ My TURN” was more than a song. It is a mighty message from a universal God who wants to make himself known in our lives right now. That we will be able to remove all of the doubt in our lives. Can we overcome the obstacles that keep us from becoming successful?
New Haven CT Hip Hop Community and the Hip Hop Music Community around the word…. Do you know what you need to know to challenge yourself to take your vision “To The Max” like Stezo did? Your work ethics behind whatever you do has got to be used to bring the best out of you. We are being doubted by many right now. Because we have to make up our minds to just do better like Stezo did from himself. Surely, God blesses the child who has his OWN.
As I close, Let us never forget to Stand up for those like Stezo who stood up with a determined mind to become who Allah (God) intended us to be. In the words of Public Enemy, It will take a nation of millions to hold us back”. That means stop tripping over our own feet and get up and build your own. We MUST Stop holding ourselves & each other back. Let the life of Steve (Stezo) Williams remind us that there is no limit to what Allah (God) permits us to do. Get up ……
“Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Honor your fathers and mothers. So that you will live a long, full of life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
My Allah (God) comforts the Williams family, and those who mourn the loss of Brother Steve(Stezo) Williams as I do.
As Salaam Alaikum (Peace Be Upon you)
